Mike has been playing the guitar and banjo since the Beatles came out in the 60's. On this album he plays a Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar and a Paramount 4-string banjo and a Martin ukulele. He is the lead vocalist. This 6 piece band was recorded live. On Bass-Brian Williams, Drums-Dana Valentine, Trumpet-Paul Gaspar, Sax-Tony Mancuso, Trombone-Rick McRae. A good mix of tunes from the Grateful Dead's "U. S. Blues" to Haggard's "Trouble In Mind" along with some dixieland swing and Roger Miller's King Of The Road. Lot's of funny talking around the songs too which gives it a real live feel. Listen close at the end of U. S. Blues.
The whole mood is happy and it's as if Kornrich and his group just want to play music forever. Mike says, "I love these guys" to the sound men. On "Please Don't Talk About Me" the horn players put tin foil over their horns like mutes.
