Artist Statement:
Laurie Clarkâs motivation for performing, recording and distributing her musical children's story entitled 'A Journey' is to provide an educational device that enriches Elementary school's music, art and creative writing curriculum across Canada.
Bio:
The 7 Track Musical Story 'A Journey' was produced by Gary Sill Studios in Vancouver, Canada in November 2007. To Facilitate funding for this recording: Laurie received a Professional DEMO Award from The Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent [FACTOR]- Alberta Art's Council.
Laurie Clark, Banff Storyteller, sings and illustrates musical tales for children. Her career work with children began in 1998 as an assistant preschool teacher in Guelph, Ontario. At this time, the children inspired her to write and illustrate this creatively educational musical story. Since this time, Laurie performs at libraries, Elementary schools (Pre-K to Grade 2), children's festivals, Children's Hospitals and Chapter's bookstores throughout Ontario and Alberta. Laurie's live storytelling performance exhibits colorful illustrations and puppets while characterization is expressed through lyrical song. Elementary School Teachers invite Laurie into the classroom as a visiting artist to take children on a journey through the art forms.

***Learn how to Sing Twinkle Little Star in Japanese!
*** Dance like a whale in the ocean... or the wind.. or the waves... or the rain.
***Imagination exercises: Each child of the listening audience is asked to explore their own imaginations
(Track 6- Eagle's Flight Lullaby).

This booklet illustrates each character's visual art (A combination of Laurie Clark's Character Portraits and Nature Photography)as well as includes a manuscript to aid in the study of language art.
