I am Lavon Stevens and I am originally from Savannah, Ga. I have worked as an entertainer in the Hilton Head Island, S.C. area since 1980. I am affiliated with BMI as a publisher and a songwriter. Love On Music is the name of tmy publishing company. I have also performed nationally in places like Aspen, Co., Lubbock, Tx. Atlanta, Ga., and regions of upstate New York just to name a few. Gospel music has always been a part of my musical development. I have also been very active in many local charities. I love to volunteer in the local school systems and work with aspiring young musicians and at risk kids. The Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Achievement School is a pre school program that is probably dearest to my heart. Some other programs and charities I have worked with include Providence Childrenâs Center, The American Cancer Society, and The Diabetes Assoc., The American Heart Assoc., The March of Dimes, The Heritage Prayer Breakfast (a Presbyterian Menâs Service in association with the PGA Heritage Golf Event), The Martin Luther King Celebration, and The Gullah Festival. As you can see my involvement locally and regionally is quite extensive. I am affiliated with BMI as a publisher and a songwriter.

About 4 years ago I began to use Louise Spencer with the band. She is wonderfully talented as a singer and has been a great addition to the group. Louise has worked with other local artist the past few years and I am glad to have her in the band. The Jazz Corner has given us a stage to perform and build our show. People have been very encouraging and supportive of the group we have there. The group consists of Lavon Stevens - piano/vocals, Louise Spencer - Vocalist, Cotdney Ulmer-bass guitar/vocals, and Jimmy Charles - Drums. Clarence Williams also makes an appearance on several tracks. We are excited about the opportunity to perform at The Jazz corner and also to be a part of the record label. The CD is entitled âTravelin Musicâ and includes many of the favorite request we perform at The Jazz Corner and other engagements. Route 66, New York New York, All That Jazz, At Last, Dance With My Father, and Thereâll Never Be Another You just to name a few of the selections on the CD.

Hilton Head Island has been a wonderful home base for the band. We are now receiving regional and national attention from corporate and cultural events expressing an interest in the unique chemistry we have created.The Jazz Corner has given us a stage to perform and build our show. People have been very encouraging and supportive of the group we have there. As we continue to grow our show we are expanding to many other areas around the country. Our fan base is growing exponentially. I believe that Love is the most powerful weapon in the world and Music is the tool to get it there.
