Cathartic note, dear journal, days pass, we talk a lot
This rain makes a tulip grow, but then the pedals drop

And it's a new day, but still I'm feeling all these feelings
Can't get the world to love me 'til I give the breath I'm breathing

Can't get the girl to hug me until I give a hug and mean it
And that goes for most of life; we cannot control the seasons

Just got to give a seed away and back a tree will bring it
And you'll never know their need until it's something that you're needing

And maybe life is fleeting but I know it when I see it
Still I try to play it cool, but will she ever know my secret?

I realize now that I've been selfish, but how can I confess?
It's time for me to get involved; time for me to give my best.
