Band from Brisbane/Gold Coast whose influences are as varied as their many sounds. Spawned from a strong friendship between itâs three members, Oatmeal is a band one third Polish, one third Finnish, and one third Australian. They manage to resist hereditary tendencies to play polkas, in favour of intense rock and roll. The members, Robert, Mark & Simon donât like to âpidgeon-holeâ their music, which shows as their songs range from ballady-jazz, through earthy Australian, to pop with a bad attitude. Style Once described as âindie Popâ the music of Oatmeal is energetic and catchy, rich in vocal harmonies, and occasionally with a poetic message. Their influences are many, ranging from post punk to âgrungeâ. --- Their new CD "theCube" reflects many of Oatmeal's influences, with diverse styles across the 12 tracks.
