Details:
I've tried to assemble a collection of musical vignettes that portray love, family, political and spiritual life in snap shots as they have arrived at my doorstep and in my life.

I've been writing songs since I was 12 years old. Played my first instrument at age six. Music is my constant companion. Songs are in every moment. 99.9 of what you'll hear is written, performed, arranged, recorded and mastered at my home studio in "Justus' Woods" in South Eastern Wisconsin.

The "The Secret" is based on my own beliefs and falls in line with the book by the same name by Rhonda Byrneâs. I was so excited to see so many people discussing self directed spirituality, I had to write. It should be played in a Cuban night club with Rickie Ricardo singing it. Puffy sleeved shirts are back!

"The Power and the Glory" -- performed by the RSGM Peace Choir (Cherylann Kelly, Dena Aronrson, Shelby Keefe, Kathleen Randolph-Steep, Laura Wall, Laurie Birmingham, Eddy J, Jo Burns). The laughter and vocal qualities are deliberately "real" and unedited without apologies and with great emphasis on the joy, spirit, and meaning of the song and the hearts of the people who sang it.

"I Don't Need to Be Saved" is not meant to infuriate anyone.
It cames from a belief that we are all part of a perfect plan. So, lets enjoy it. So, there. I'm out of the Unity/Religious Science/New Thought closet.

I have been writing green songs since 1969 when my wife was identified as a DES victim developing cervical cancer and fertility problems. âOak Creek Mornâ, âMy Uni-Verseâ and âOnly Heaven Knowsâ are gentle nudges toward environmental accountability. Dedicated to âRed Smithâ - the oldest and most beautiful living shaman in my urban neighborhood.

I love music parties and âUni-Verseâ is a free-for-all improvisational sing-a-long which encourages everyone to make up their own vocal solo â as loud and as long as they can. Pure Fun! Try it.

"Just A Million Years' is a unity/new age wedding song. Who would of thought we might need one someday? It was commissioned for a wedding through my website at www.WoodSongMusic.com
"Oak Creek Morn" is a blatant dive into sweet love, of life and nature and the headiness of falsetto singing.

Love songs write themselves so I take no credit but once again I love the intoxication. âWhat Would I Do?â is a loverâs prayer. Imagine if we all prayed to one another?(a tune for the next CD)

The last song was written by my daughter Abby. She made up all the verses herself and sings it here with all the depth, commitment, and sincerity that only a seven year old can muster. âOh, baby.â I only hope I can stay as true to spirit as she was in those moments. I wish that for you, too.

I've always been inspired by the "truth tellers" like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, U2 and countless other (see below). The style may be dated by I hope the spirit is timeless.

Thanks Mom & Dad, Jackie and Penny.
Special help came from 'J' Mattes - your friendship & production skills are masterful, Jeanne Croft-Mattes, Laura Wall, Robin Pluer, Laurie Birmingham, Eddy J, Shelby Keefe, Kathline Randolph-Steep, Dan & Debby Akafer, John and Carrie Tanner and of course, my beloved daughters, Abby and Jenny. And my son Jeff.

Namaste.
