Iâm Rick Quarles and in my "Music To Swear By â A Second Dose" CD youâll find a wide variety of tongue-in-cheek lyrics (no profanity, by the way) and musical styles to fit a wide range of moods and feelings. If you, or somebody you know, has a problem with clutter (and Iâm one of those people because I hate to throw things away), then my song "Clutter Creature" would be a good listen. "People Behaving Badly" is a message to all those grown people in the news â celebrities, sports stars, politicians, and anyone else â that just canât seem to control their âinner childâ and like to act crazy like there are no consequences for their actions. "iPhonatic" is for all those consumers who rushed out to stand in long lines for the first iPhones (which are great by the way â Iâd sure like to have one). For all of us that love going to the beach and seeing the ocean every summer vacation, I wrote the song "Goinâ Coastal". If you are like me, and sometimes many people you work with or are just around a lot overwhelm you, then "Comfort Zone" is a good antidote. "Looking For A Way Out" is for everyone who gets stressed out on their job or life in general and have set new goals for themselves. The song "Donât Sweat It" is a reggae answer to keep from being upset and take the âhecticâ out of your day (one of my favorite songs âDonât Worry, Be Happyâ inspired me to write this song). On a serious note, my favorite song on the CD is "Dream On" because I wrote it to promote how mankind should act and what life on this great Earth of ours should really be like (maybe someday). I dedicate to all those people throughout history who worked for and dreamed of peace, equality, and happiness for everyone. "Waiting To Be Discovered" is a song for all those singer-songwriters (like me), performers, artists, actors, writers, and any other creative and talented people who just refuse to give up working toward their aspirations and âbig breakâ. And, the last song, "Everybodyâs Noisily Multitasking", is a satirical look at the âelectronic crazeâ (or, as I say in the song, âdazeâ) that everybody seems to be doing in public places and the new action word this phenomenon gave us â âmultitaskingâ.
I hope you enjoy the songs and get some laughs and smiles from it. Hopefully, you can have some fun with them and they can distract you from your problems and worries for a little while. After all, as my song says in my first "Music To Swear By" CD, music really soothes the soul!
