From her Brooklyn apartment in New York, Katie Sawcki has brought emotion back to urban edge folk. Songs crafted from years on the road, past loves, contemplations of a changing music industry and folk ruminations of the crowded city life define this singersongwriter. Hailed as a "Singstress, Songwriter, Lyrical Genius" (Encore Magazine), Sawicki is a self-taught guitarist, quickly making a name for herself. Sawicki is handed down by the influences of Josh Ritter, Jenny Lewis, Ryan Adams, Iron and Wine, and Patty Griffin. In her short career, she has shared the stage with Sarah Harmer, Melissa Ferrick, Girlyman, and Catie Curtis among others. Sawicki's most recent project, Time Spent Lost, defines a new kind of indie music. This album blends the roots of contemporary folk with experimental production elements. Each song is testimate to the careful nature in which Sawicki composes and performs. Time Spent Lost is set to be released the beginning of March with a national tour to follow in May of 2008.
