Itâs full of optimistic charm, bittersweet compromise and a warm tribute to his family. The songwriting is solid throughout. âOnly One Roadâ is sinewy and simple, others like âWork of Artâ are embellished with discreet African percussion, strings and a hotly cross small child demanding that dad puts down his guitar. Itâs a measure of his skill that âChildrenâ, a heartfelt tribute to new priorities (âGoodbye rock and rollâ) avoids being either twee or mawkish and instead is touching. Shaun has fronted a number of bands in Bristol, England and has played guitar with Ninja Tunes artist, John Matthias, as well as the Blue Aeroplanes. He has writing credits on albums by both these artists and has also performed live with them at venues such as WOMAD Festival and the Pompidou Centre, in Paris. Shaun has been performing solo (vocal and guitar) the past few years, supporting artists such as Roy Harper, Blurt and the Blue Aeroplanes. He is currently recording his second album, with Paul Wigens (www.myspace.com/paulwigensdrums)
and is also attending the M.A. Songwriting course at Bath Spa University.
