Sliver is an original hard rock band out of the Chicagoland area, with sound that might remind you of some of their influences: Disturbed, Tool, Chevelle, Alice in Chains to name a few. But they also add their own touch of uniqueness through the songwriting, arrangements, and delivery of catchy melodies to go along with the soaring guitar riffs and driving beats.
Sliver's debut EP, "The Remainder" captures the intensity of their live show. The Guitar lines that go from whisper quiet and drenched in effects, to all out frenzy accentuate the dynamics of the band. The inspired vocal deliver of singer Chris Nelson is captivating, whether he's singing the ballad Words Escape Me, machine gunning his raspy growl on Unless You Let Me, or shredding his vocal chords on the screamer Lies.
Formed in 2004, Sliver features brothers Chris and Scott Nelson on vocals and guitar, Ryan Billelo on drums, and Josh Smith on bass.
