Details:
Luke Dahn graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in music composition in 2006. His solo work for saxophone, Prolepsis, is featured on this album.

Lawrence Fritts is an associate professor of music composition and director of the Electronic Music Studios at the University of Iowa. He has studied with Ralph Shapey, John Eaton, and Shulamit Ran at the University of Chicago. His electo-acoustic and saxophone piece Orthogonality is featured on this album.

Brian Vlasak graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in music composition in 2006. His work La Joie de Sax for saxophone quartet.

Scott Shoemaker graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in music composition in 2006. His work Sanctuary! for alto saxophone is featured on this album.

David K. Gompper, professor of music composition and director of the Center for New Music at the University of Iowa, studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Jeremy Dale Roberts, Humphrey Searle and Phyllis Sellick. His work Crossed for violin, saxophone and piano is featured on this album.

Fachel Foote's Aggregate I for alto saxophone and tape is featured on this album. She graduated from Iowa with master's degrees in composition and oboe performance in 2007.

John Griffin, a PhD candidate in music composition, closes out this album. Movements II and IV from his Suite for Solo Saxophone are featured here.
