Bettina Henrich presents her debut album âME.â. On one hand she is currently Germanyâs oldest newcomer (born in 1967), on the other hand she has been on the road Europe wide for many years as a drummer with various bands like Freak Family and the all female PrimaVera. New she is just as a songwriter and singer. The talent for that Bettina Henrich inherited from her Dad, the guitarist and singer/songwriter Udo Henrich.

And you can speak of talent very well as her successful song âNew Orleans In The Rainâ is proving. The title immediately made it into the play lists of more than a dozen radio stations in Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, California, New York, Colorado and Utah in the USA and also in the Netherlands. Part of the money she passes on to the victims of hurricane Katrina via âNew Orleans Hilfe e.V.â. And meanwhile these stations are playing more Henrich songs like âThings I Wanna Sayâ, âBoom Boomâ, âMister Butterflyâ and recently âLullabyâ, which are all to be heard on this CD.

Itâs fascinating how Bettina Henrich applies her natural voice, which sounds like raised on Bossa Nova. Whether light-footedly swinging, melancholically balladic or rocking and roll-ing, whether in German or in English language â she masters most different grooves and feelings, yet her handwriting remains unmistakable. A vocalist with a strong character.

And in the studio she had good names to support her. The guitars are handled by Till Schubert and by Loomis Green from Daytona Beach, Florida, known for his cooperation with Jan Delay and the Weather Girls. Keyboarder Xaver Fischer worked with Sarah Connor, the Supremes, the Nighthawks plus many others and, of course, heâs the boss of the Xaver Fischer Trio. On bass there are Thomas âCapâ Gier and for four songs Wolfgang Diekmann of Albie Donnellyâs Supercharge, who also stood out as a sideman with Deborah Henson. Drummer and producer Eric Harings is popular through groups like N.O.H.A. and Ortiga and teaches at the renowned Drummers Institute in Duesseldorf, Germany.
