Description:

(ID 2807144)
An eclectic mix of trippy sounds humming over strong melodies and bangin beats covering many atmospheres and moods. Produced by two old friends that took a lot of time putting it together. Worth hearing. This is the more atmospheric album, moodier.

Details:
The Flatliners is basically a collaboration of musician friends that got together, smoked it up and layed it down. Jacob aka Grazhoppa is a hip hop head with a background in percussion. Tim has been playing music since he was thirteen in some form or another and listens to pretty much everything. We grew up in the same town and went to the same high school. We ran into each other awhile back and started fooling around with digital music. It didn't take long, less than a day for us to click and before we knew it we were pumping out track after track. We started mixing different styles with trippy sounds while always keeping our percussion hard. As time went on our songs got more complex and our knowledge and skill improved. In all we wrote over a hundred different songs using any instrument we felt like to tell the story. We didn't get to putting lyrics on the tracks because in our minds we were training to be producers and were trying to tell the story with the instruments to begin with but the songs were written in form for lyrics yet are still strong enough to carry themselves. We titled this compilation Ghost in the Machine because it seemed like our equipment was possessed by something while we were creating it. It's a mixture of a little bit of everything and is a little moodier than the other CD we're putting out shortly called Critical Habits(it'll be more upbeat, we wanted them to sound different). The track list goes.....

Digital Cops - Intro electro song, sounds like Nightmare on Elm Street

Saucers aka Leatherface - Buzz saw type melody ripping through the beat

Deep Trouble - Jacob wrote this when he was going through some stuff, crunchy guitar pushing lead melodies rolling over the drums, grinds

Dirty South - Dirty South is just a pure rock out song. It's nothing but guitar, drums, a sound effect and a message, Dirty....South....Assholes!!! Tim on guitar, Jacob on drums

China Syndrome - Cool little song with asian melody and weird effects taking turns

Help - Interchanging drum pattern pushing a trippy little rhythm not over done. We like this song a lot, good flow. If you listen real good you'll hear it says help

The Order - The Order is a big song. Lost of different parts that seperates the songs into three sections, tells this weird story Tim saw in my mind about this secret society that trys to summon an evil power for it's own use and loses control of it and has to deal with the repercussions

Time Dialator - Low key swing beat that conveys time bending slowly but surely

Burndown - A kind of two step futuristic disco beat with a warping melody to get down to

Hiroshima - Big kick ass song, probably our favorite, starts with this hard, hard intro and then quiets down to a calming choral which is taken away by another guitar to put it simply. Meant to tell the story of anyone that's ever been through a hard time in there life and found the peace and hope by not giving up, pushing through it and ultimatly prevailing. The entire song is on our myspace page and is worth listening to.

Hidden Track

Take Me To Your Leader - A technical experiment that uses something other a guitar to sound like guitar solo that plays on for about five and a half minutes

We hope you enjoy our music as much as we enjoyed writing it, it is what it is,
