ROCK: Progressive Rock, JAZZ: Jazz Fusion

Details:
Rowland Evans and Norm Haas have been collaborating for eight years. Rowland comes from an East Coast family known for their interest and involvement in reporting political news and commentary. He is an avid jazz aficionado and accomplished pianist. He has played in many bands in the Bay Area including Ike and the Coldbloods and the Garcia Brothers. Rowland has played in countless recording sessions and released his own album "A Child's Garden of Jazz".

Norm is from the Midwest and has roots in folk and rock music, with a taste for jazz-rock fusion. He contributes his strong vocal performances in both the hard driving songs and gentle ballads to the album. He has been in several bands in the Midwest and moved to the Bay Area in 1984 to pursue a career in sales with high technology companies.

Upon meeting at a card game after a studio session for his un-released album "Top of the World", the two decided to begin collaboration in songwriting. Their first project together was a short compilation of 4 songs in the same genre as "Q" which was released in 1996 entitled "Spiritual Reunion".

So enough about us. Here's a key to the songs:

Q - Everybody wants to drive my car. Can you pass the "so what?" test? John Wedemeyer wails and Tom Politzer's sax solo on the bridge is incomparable.
I Need to Love You - Sort of Jim Morrison meets the Stray Cats. Exquisite guitar solo by Jeff Leeds and piano solo by Rowland.
Fields of White -Think folk ballad and reminiscing. Think snow in Vermont. Enjoy Tom's sax solo after the key change.
I've Got a Feeling - Electric kiss! John's guitar solo will remind you of Clapton with Delaney and Bonnie.
Ivory Tower - Our opus for this album. A protest song for Y2KX. Garage bands around the world will want to copy John's lead guitar solos. (BTW, the opening is from Schumann's Concerto in A Minor)
Could It Be - Based on the same chord structure as "Autumn Leaves". A nice ballad with beautiful sax work by Tom and excellent horn chart by Eric Bolvin.
Been There, Done That - How many of you can claim this? Check out the second verse. Sort of a tribute to the Silicon Valley way.
Grits from the Ritz - A tribute to Charlie Parker in the style of Bebop. Great solos from Rowland on piano and Doug Rowan on sax.
Do You Believe - Tasty little ballad about true love. If she only knew his name. Beautiful flugelhorn solo by Eric Bolvin.
Q (Intrumental) - We liked John's original guitar "noodling" on this song so much that we decided to add it as a bonus track.
