As a singer-songwriter, visual and performing artist, Jeff harms combines homespun blues/waltz guitar with refreshingly honest storytelling. He consistently captures the attention of audience members with his mix of comical and serious lyrics that always hit home, as well as his charming, straightforward stage presence. Jeff received his BFA in painting at the University of Washington and his Post-Baccalaureate in sculpture at Brandeis University. Jeff returned to Chicago in 2002 to attend the Art Institute of Chicagoâs graduate program in sculpture. By 2004 he graduated with an MFA and had completed a full-length album of songs about French bread, lemons, sponge animals, spices, a ceramic dog, and stories from his past.

Jeff worked closely with naïveté records to complete and hand-package Big Amazing Songs. Over the past year, Jeff has performed as a solo artist and with the Big Amazing Band at venues throughout Chicago.

In 2005 Jeff helped found the performance group Weather Talking and has had work at the MCA, PAC/Edge, Rhinofest, the Neo-Futurarium, and The Art Institute of Chicago. He also began teaching art history and studio art at St. Augustine and Westwood colleges.
