Hosted and performed by the versatile and funny Jay Lynch and Gary Wayne, these 30-minute programs are smart, updated versions of classic fairy tales told in musical theatre style, complete with five full-length musical numbers in each episode.

Each tale introduces a different musical style and has been modernized with a special twist to reflect today's values, while still packing an entertaining punch. The lively music, outrageous characters and extraordinary quality all work to make KIDS RADIO KLASSICS a captivating experience in the home or car.

Veteran childrenâs theatre performer, writer and director Jay Lynch rewrites the stories. Lynch's take on fairy tales is told from the point of view of the characters living the stories rather than an outsider reporting on the events.

"This makes for a more comical and entertaining story. We all know how Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and all the "good-guys" feel, but what about the Wolf, Cinderella's Step Mother and the others? I'm sure they all
have a very interesting reason for behaving the way they do."

The music for KIDS RADIO THEATRE is written by another veteran to the entertainment world, Gary Wayne. For years Gary played with rock bands, performed in countless musicals in regional theatres and wrote original music until he found himself drawn to the world of children's theatre and he ran a not for profit children's theatre in South Florida for many years.

âThe neat thing about it is that our musicals speak to adults as well. Alot of the comical content is for adults and they love it. Thatâs why KIDS RADIO THEATRE worksâitâs for everyone," says Wayne. "We wanted to do something different, something hip and not condescending and we found it."

In this story when Jackâs Mom canât pay the rent and refuses the evil landlordâs offer to wed, Jack hits the road to sell the cow. Silly Jack sells the cow for beansâliterally! You know the restâ¦or do you? Join us as Jack lies, steals and sings with his conscience (both of them) somewhere over the beanstalk. This musical version has plenty of unexpected twists including a vegetarian Giant and the landlordâs long lost love.
