Soft pop/rock/adult contemporary with a hint of country and 50's once in a while
11 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock
Details:
"FOR ALL THE WOMEN" is a moving and poignant collection of songs devoted to women's issues and was inspired by personal experiences, as well as those of other women. The album was conceived during the time of the US incursion into Afganistan after 9/11 and is the artist's way of handling and addressing the issue of the entrenched religiously-and politically-sanctioned violence against women in Afganistan, in her own country (US), and all over the world. The title track, in particular, was inspired by the book "Rage Against the Veil" written by an Iranian woman livng in the United States named Parvin Darabi in memory of her sister who killed herself back in Iran.
Evie T. is a gifted, prolific, multi-talented singer/songwriter with a unique and unforgettable voice and a powerful presence. She brings a wealth of wisdom and life experiences to her craft and creates music that not only catches the ear of the listener, but pulls on their heartstrings as well. She tackles themes that give one pause--making the listener think about life's many shadings and colors.
born, raised and began musical training in New York City at the age of 6. Obtained a BA in music (Summa Cum Laude), attended the UCLA Songwriting program, trained with various piano, voice, and songwriting coaches in New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area and Sacramento (currently studying with a teacher trained by Seth Riggs.) Taught piano, voice and songwriting both privately and in a nearby college. Was a partner in a major Bay Area recording studio for 10 years during which time she began writing and recording the first two of soon-to-be 9 albums. She recorded the last seven albums at Moonlight Studios in Los Angeles with her music partner, David Vasquez, and has spent the last few years travelling in the western states performing and promoting them. She has also performed in the local Tahoe/Reno/Nevada City area at clubs, restaurants, churches, benefits, concerts, shows, etc., is represented on various music websites on the Internet (www.kspace.com/evt; www.AMAZON.com; cybertunes.org; theorchard.com; cdbaby.com), and has songs on four multi-artist compilation CD's. CD's of her nine albums can be purchased at the above websites.
