Raymond Black, an individual artist, originally from Louisiana, spent the better part of 2004 recording his first solo album ever entitled "Recovery". Primarily a drummer, Raymond has for years always been able to improvise on the keyboard and create musical compositions. Having worked at a major recording studio (Studio in the Country), located in Louisiana, for seven years, Raymond worked as an associate engineer with such artists as Stevie Wonder, the rock group Kansas, and many local artists. Back in the late 70's, he began recording some of his own material and also working with a keyboardist and guitarist, with whom he still does projects with.

After acquiring some of the new digital recording technology, Raymond began creating a steady stream of songs that he recorded at his home. As this group of songs was developing, his wife, (at that time a Registered Nurse working in a recovery unit of a surgical hospital), stated one day that her co-workers and she never had a nice stream of music that could be played in the background as they worked. This statement is what sparked Raymond to start using the material he was recording in order to create a CD that his wife could play at work; Music that would not only provide some music for the nurses, but also to help the patients who were in the recovery area to ease their pain somewhat. Hence, the name "Recovery" was given to the CD project. Later as the project was being mixed, Raymond realized that most people are in some form of recovery from something in this life that has touched them, and hoped that this music may also help others in need.
