Meet E. Wilson and the Highway

This North Dakotan CD was alot of fun to listen to and had several different styles to enjoy. Eric Wilson's baritone voice is exciting to listen to as there is alot of energy present, and the band plays well together. Extra kudos to saxophonist Mike Nepodal.

They open the CD with some rockin' blues, and I found the first song, "One Bottle or Ten", to be a riot! "Bluebird Blues" is a terrific tune and very catchy, and I really liked "The Way You Walk".

Wilson isn't afraid to show his feelings in "I Love You", however, for the spurned crowd, there is "About the Way You Are", another fun song but a far cry lyrically from "I love you".

When you get to "Hey Little Mama", the CD becomes more reflective and thoughtful. In "Unknown Fear", you get to hear Wilson sing more softly and in a higher register, which is very pleasant as well.

The last two songs are by Melissa Adams, who is Wilson's daughter. She sings solo with piano. They are more classical in style, and "That Door" is a very creative piece of music. Her alto voice is pleasing to listen to and also exciting, much like her father's in that way.
