Description:

(ID 283072)
The music of Ex Habit draws from a wide continuum of influences (from the aggressive, bluesy riff rock of early Aerosmith to the experimentally rich side of later Pearl Jam) and it accomplishes the feat of being simultaneously interesting and accessible.

Details:
Springing from the musky loins of popular Philadelphia club act, Dry White Toast, Ex Habit was conceived when DWTers Eric Bachmann and Dan Wachinski decided to make a sonic assault on New York City. A first attempt resulted in a self-produced demo that received enough attention along the college radio dial to justify the modest effort that went into it. What was missing however was an impressive live presence needed to support their work.

It took longer than they expected or even feared to find the right fits in rounding out a new band. Finding a talented bass player and sound engineer in Frank Ruso, and most recently adding the dynamic Ken Grayson behind the drum kit to complete the rhythm section, Ex Habit was officially assembled and ready for public consumption.

The music of Ex Habit draws from a wide continuum of influences (from the aggressive, bluesy riff rock of early Aerosmith to the experimentally rich side of later Pearl Jam) and it accomplishes the feat of being simultaneously interesting and accessible. They are at once dark and accommodating with the moody, contemplative lyrics sometimes seeming almost at odds with the vivid chord progressions that carry them.
