Announcing "Promise Land", the long awaited follow up to the much acclaimed CD "weight of being" released in 2003.
With a new approach in energy, production and instrumentation - Ezra Thomas carves a beautifully intimate landscape of melody, balanced with passionate grooves and lush vocal harmony. Much terrain is covered in this project, (as usual with the ever curious band) from the ironic bouncing pop of Big Balloon, through Galveston's driving reflection of lost love - to the encompassing raw emotion of Suicidal Teeth; there seems to be no niche to place ET, and on Promise Land, they revel in this freedom.

The CD was originally slated for release in early 2004 (then untitled), only to be halted by the surprising divorce of lead singer and lyricist Ezra Vancil. The CD in mid production was put on hold indefinitely. After a few months of hiatus Ezra returned with a hand full of songs and the band re-envisioned the half complete album. The truth and emotional power of the new songs was too much to deny, and songwriting team Ezra & Thomas scraped nearly the entire production and started over with the're most introspective material to date.

The result is a collection of songs that tell a story rarely told with such prospective of emotion and sincere insight into the human heart.
