Imminent Departure formed in December 2007. Guitarist/Vocalist Nic Taylor has previously played in London based punk bands, and more recently has been writing and recording as solo act Kill Your Heroes. Synth player Sarah B has recorded music for short films as part of her audio/visual duo Spectral Response. Both artists noticed each others work, and mutual admiration for bands and solo artists such as Ultravox!, Adam & The Ants, Psychedelic Furs, John Foxx, Bauhaus, Simple Minds, Kraftwerk, Gary Numan to name but a few, and decided to combine their musical interests and ideas. This mixture of raw edged and ambient styles is the foundation for Imminent Departure's sound.
