The MMA is a Record label that chronicles the work of Mike Mahaffay going back to the early 1970's. His music is so filled with the reality of our being/existence that it is no longer something he does; it has become something he is. Improvisation is the core of his work: spontaneous creation.
It is through the music, in both the individual and collective sense, that the process of self-realization takes place.
Op Odessey was the winner of the prize for Best Company at the 1977 15me Festival International De La Dance, Paris FR.
Musicians include Armen Halburian on percussion, Mike Mahaffay on Traps and percussion ( he also composed the music ), Martha on chello, Gloria Tropp on vocals, and Mark Whitecage on alto saxaphone and flute.
