A series of short new age musical compositions 22 MP3 Songs NEW AGE: New Age, AVANT GARDE: Psychedelia Details: Awaken to Dream A New Age Lament by Jim Obermeyer About the Album: Awaken to Dream is an original work by Jim Obermeyer. It is a series of short New Age type pieces created without any specific point in mind. All the sounds emanate from a digital piano with all the bells and whistles. Jim likes to compose his music in the early hours of the morning, when itâs quiet, long before the sunrise. Inspiration comes from the past, whether it is good or bad. Mostly itâs a combination of both, a reflection of life embodied in sound. The title âAwaken to Dreamâ is from the past. It was the brainstorm of a man I knew named Murray Braverman. Murray owned a bicycle shop called Murita Cycles many years ago in Staten Island, NY. Awaken to Dream was originally intended to be the title of a movie by Murrayâs son Barry. It was about a lost soul, back in the early 1970âs, who was hitchhiking across America with his guitar in hand trying to find himself. It was a novel idea back then but the movie was scrapped because of production problems and Barry didnât have enough money to get out of the State of New Jersey. Barry later did another movie about Murray called âMurita Cyclesâ which aired on PBS on June 17th, 1979. Murray has passed on, so I dedicate this work in memory of him. By the way, he would have absolutely hated it! About the Composer: Jim lives in Rogersville, Tennessee with his wife Jan and their two dogs. They own an operate âObermeyerâs Furniture Refinishingâ also located in Rogersville. Other interests include hiking, golf, writing, woodworking, walking his dogs and playing music with his two sons. Jimâs basic philosophy about life is this, âwhen youâre dumb you gotta be tough!â People who are interested in should consider this download. in partnership with CDbaby User tags: Votes: Reviews: Review it!
