MATT SUROWIEC (pronounced SIR-o-wick, or if you prefer, MATT S.) has been performing and singing and writing songs since the age of 5. In his youth, Matt had recurring roles in several stage and musical productions. After a few years of trombone lessons he taught himself to play guitar, banjo, piano, harmonica, and drums!

The past 7 years have found Matt touring the coffeehouses of the Northern United States as an acoustic guitar- playing storyteller. His professional work to date includes appearances on radio, television, and in independent films.

Matt has long been active in children's and family entertainment. In the early 1990's, he performed regularly at children's parties. His "story and song" adaptation of "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" has been presented to attentive and appreciative audiences for 7 straight years!

2007 brought a highly successful return to children's and family entertainment for Matt, and the release of the instant classic "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" tribute CD, which was featured on Muppet Central (muppetcentral.com) and the Muppet Cast (muppetcast.com).

2008 finds him releasing his first children's CD "On the MOON" - inspired by childhood favorites Andy Kaufman, Steve Martin, Paul Williams (The Muppet Movies, Bugsy Malone), Joe Raposo (Sesame Street), Shel Silverstein (Where The Sidewalk Ends), Randy Newman (Disney movies), The Beatles (Yellow Submarine), Spike Jones (All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth), The Smothers Brothers and Jim Henson (The Muppet Show) - and performing children's shows at schools, parties, and elsewhere, including a regular monthly series at the Audubon Library in Amherst, NY. Matt creates and promotes exciting, age-appropriate music of all styles.
