Yasmine White's first CD, SIMPLE TRUTHS, features eleven of her original songs, sung in her unique, emotionally charged voice. Each song has a different inspiration. Melt Me Down is a yearning to find shelter under a lover's wing. I Am Not Your Saint is about giving up a family myth. Jennifer Layton calls it "a standout, bluntly honest." The Women of MP3.com web site called Lemon Trees, the second place winner at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, "folk at its best." Jenny Ivor says of Hold Me that it is a "poignant cry of loss and the need for comfort."

Jeff Eason talked about Yasmine's music in The Mountain Times: "Yasmine White is one of North Carolina's fastest rising songwriters. Unlike some Americana artists, White is unafraid to tackle influences outside the country, folk, and pop genres and in her songs you can hear elements of 50s rock and old fashioned gospel." Jennifer Layton said of Simple Truths: "These songs aren't so much played as breathed into life, almost whispered."

Yasmine has opened for Caitlin Cary, David Wilcox, Jeff Black and Kate Campbell, and venues she's played include the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, the Silvia Theatre in York, SC, the Roxy in Los Angeles, Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA., the Arts Center in Carrboro, NC and the Six String Cafe in Cary, NC. Yasmine was one of three Folk finalists in the John Lennon Contest, which was founded by Yoko Ono, and included Bjork, James Brown, Judy Collins, Elton John, Joan Osborne and Carlos Santana as judges.
