Jazz pianist and vocalist Anne Farnsworth lives in Los Angeles after making Boston her homebase for
several years. There, she divided her time between
performing and teaching at the John Payne School of
Music and her alma mater, New England Conservatory.
Anne has toured extensively, crisscrossing the States, Europe, Scandinavia, and the Caribbean, and has shared the stage with Jazz legends Harry "Sweets" Edison, Johnny Griffin, Jaki Byard, and Herbie Hancock.
Anne resides on the music faculties of the University of Southern California and Occidental College and is the author of JAZZ VOCAL TECHNIQUES (JazzMediaPress2000).
A freelance music journalist, she writes for Windplayer Magazine. Since her arrival in Los Angeles, she has become an active participant in the club and theater scenes, serving as musical director for plays and revues and performing with her quartet. Her latest recording, SATURDAY MORNING, was released in December 2001.
