In a quiet and safe place, an old music synthesizer is stored away. An Arp Odyssey synthesizer from the early 1970s. The keyboard is worn and the control sliders scratchy from so many hours of use. A monophonic analog synthesizer, long relegated to history. A history before computers, the Internet and modern MIDI electronic keyboards. Considering the progress of electronic music in the last four decades, perhaps the word antiquity is not inappropriate.

Indeed, I have arrived in an era with technologies beyond my wildest dreams of the 70s. I have had the privilege to see the meaning of âelectronic musicâ evolve over the decades and become the medium of many very talented artists.

And I am reminded of the question I have always had and always will have-why? Why does all this matter so much?

The answer is found in the experience of electronic sounds and music. In a world that seems to thrive on chaos, there is order. In a world that roils in violence, there is peace. In a world all too often harsh and colorless, there is beauty in the sound. And most importantly, in a world seemingly without a soul, there is an awakening of the spirit.

Does music ever make you feel your spirit has come home? It does for me. And I know that this home I speak of is not just mine. It is a home where all of us dwell with our innermost being.

This CD is dedicated to our eternal home. The place we come from and shall return. May you find peace just by the very thought of it.
