Crown of Roses Biography

Crown of Roses formed in the early nineties with the help of our beautiful Mother Mary, during the height of the Medjugorje era. Crown of Roses has always been founding members, William David Jampo and James Anthony (identical twin brothers). The band members have changed over the years, however, original members such as Ben Chew and Jay Creed break away from their solo careers to help out the Jampo Brothers re-create that COR, classic Christian sound. William and James Jampo have been inspired by the great classical composers such as Grieg, Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, and Richard Wagner. Rock, pop, and easy listening music has also influenced them greatly as in the Beatles, Police, Traveling Wiliburys, and Chicago. The group Bread, David Gates, Larry Kneckel, Mike Botts, and the late James Griffen influenced William and Jamesâ softer side in their song composing.

For James, the closest influences in his guitar playing are George Harrison, David Foster, Lindsey Buckingham, and Andy Summers of Police. Jamesâ vocals lean towards Paul McCartney, Alan Parsons, of the Alan Parsons Project, and David Gates. For William, his bass influences are Walter Becker of Steely Dan, Roger Waters, Pink Floyd, Geezer Butler, Black Sabbath. Williamâs vocal influences are Sting, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Ringo Starr.

Performing live for Crown of Roses is something they really enjoy. They look forward to the challenge in taking their music to another level in appreciation.
Fans throughout the years have expressed such good feelings after hearing Crown of Roses perform live! Like all musical artists, recording your material on an album is an accomplishment, but then performing your song live takes on a whole new meaning. Their musical journey has taken them from college concerts, religious functions, oratorios, and intimate restaurant settings, etc. Besides the bandâs recent café tour which covered most of the Northeastern Pennsylvania, parts of New Jersey, central and southern New York USA areas in support of their 2008 Third Sign new album release, Crown of Roses has also played in the big cities of Allentown, Bethlehem, Philadelphia and Doylestown, Pennsylvania USA as well.


This Crown of Roses, Fifth Paradise album has twelve uplifting tracks. The last track of the album,called
âAve Maria,â is the traditional Hail Mary Prayer, sung in Italian, accompanied by inspired music, sounds beautiful. Another track called âDivine,â a music video, is available for viewing on many of the on-line distributors, such as Yahoo, Godtube, Google, etc. The video sheds a new light on the song. The third track of the album, âSummertime,â a music video, is currently in production.

Crown of Roses has never really fit the Christian contemporary music mold. They have developed a unique, classic, Christian sound, and image with a variety of pop/rock songs and ballads, all with a deep Christian message. The Jampo Brothers have created beautiful harmonies, and have been compared to Simon and Garfunkel, Badfinger, and the Beatles. They released a double CD on the Canadian American Records/Golden Swan Records label in 2003 called Crown of Roses, Second Taste, with two of the singles charting. In Belgium, âThere Will Come a Dayâ in February 2005 was number twelve on the play list Radio Eagle 107.9 FM Report and Indie Radio best Christian spiritual song. And in Australia, in March 2005, their single âIn Every Moment,â aka âHoly Wounds,â was number four (Canadian American Records) on ISON Radio International Network Playlist Report and remained on the charts for the year. The single âPrecious Blood,â has received great attention throughout the east coast states USA and outside the states as well, and by the Independent Artist Company (IAC).

The Crown of Roses, Third Sign, album will come out sometime this year in 2008. The album is an alternative rock sound and sure to catch the attention of all listeners. Since the Mel Gibson Passion Movie release, Crown of Roses was compelled to write a song and add it to their upcoming LP Third Sign album. This track will definitely rock the music world!
