Maybe there was something in the water flowing in the Erie Canal along the banks of Lockport, NY - a tiny town just north of Buffalo and Niagara Falls - that made Johnny Nobody happen. It could have been a mix of small town boredom, restless youth and the clear Canadian radio waves coming across Lack Ontario, bringing the sounds of bands like Sloan, The Tragically Hip and By Divine Right.

Whatever it was exactly, it certainly resulted in something special when Colin Roberts, Jay White and Andrew Vaeth started playing together. While still teenagers, Johnny Nobody began playing covers and writing their own songs, rocking every all ages show and high school beer blast that they could set their amps and drums up at.

Almost ten years on the same three boys are now men. While they have become the kind of telepathic - tight, white hot combo that only years and years together can afford, they still play with the youthful exuberance and abandon of their teen daze.

Their July 2007 proper debut full-length "What It Feels Like Broke" (Harvest Sum) was the ultimate musical summation of it.

Like a mix of AC/DC, Queens of The Stone Age and the aforementioned Sloan, Johnny Nobody effortlessly craft a rock an roll in thick, highly melodic slabs that belie the compactness of a trio. The band's trade is superbly crafted songs, usually of the three minute variety, like the kind that used to play on the radio.
