What style of music do you sing?
My music is a blend of different styles, kind of classical and contemporary. I also have a chant on my first album, so I expect my future works to be even more eclectic. Iâm never thinking in my head that I want a certain sound for any piece, rather, I listen to what the song is doing naturally.

Do you write your own music?
Yes, I write and compose all of my songs.

Where does your inspiration come from?
A lot of times I write what I am feeling at that moment. Usually I compose late at night, when I can reflect on the day and write about people that I know, places that I go and events that are happening in my life. Other times I have even dreamed the music and wake up singing that song.

Do you perform any other music?
I sing and perform Kirtan, which is a call and response form of singing originated in India and is often played during the study of yoga.

What do you like to do outside of music?
In 2005 I began to study yoga and now I have a daily practice. I am also an avid reader, love to cook and bake vegan food, and to dance.

What styles to you dance?
When I was younger I studied ballet, tap and jazz for eight years.

Do you have any other interests?
I absolutely love to read! I have read a lot âmythical fiction,â like the Lord of the Rings trilogy of novels, historical fiction and a lot of other really good books. A good story is essential. I also really enjoy books on eastern philosophy, especially ancient yoga texts. Currently I am taking a class on Sanskrit.

You can read other languages. Do you speak them as well?
I speak French well; I took it throughout most of my school years. On my own I have learned a bit of Irish Gaelic, Scots Gaelic, Italian, and Tibetan. I also like to sing in some of these languages.

Do you play any instruments?
I play the piano and accompany myself on all of my songs. I also play the harmonium, hand drums, a bit of the guitar and the zils.
