First Coat is a four piece from Chicago that plays kaleidoscopic and soulful Midwestern music. Their style ranges from tender acoustic driven folk tunes to full on electric rock with an experimental edge. The thoughtful and expertly crafted acoustic-based songwriting of front man Conor Loughridge mixes with bold electric guitar and dynamic, driving rhythms to create a wonderfully catchy yet sonically deep sound. The final product is a catalog of songs that truly spans the gamut of American music.

First Coat has been featured live on Chicago radio stations WBEZ, WHPK, and WLUW. Tracks from this CD have been played -- among other places -- on WXRT, WHPK, WLUW, and on radiocrystalblue.com and woxy.com.
