Where the love of all things metal meet, Written In Blood is born!!

Formed in 2005, by rhythm guitarist Justin Stamper, Written In Blood began as a small hardcore/metalcore band based in Spartanburg, SC. After going through several lineup changes, WIB finally decided they were ready to play. After playing many shows around the southeast with bands such as Between the Buried and Me, The Classic Struggle, The Red Death and The Acacia Strain, WIB decided it was time to do an EP.
In the winter of 2006, they went into the studio with Jamie King, who had done the production on several BTBAM albums. Out of that came the EP "A Dream to a Nightmare" featuring the vocals of Jon Eubanks formerly of For Granted. The blend of the guttural vocals and Matt Barlow type singing was an instant hit around the local scene.
But soon the desire to continue in the metalcore scene began to fade. WIB decided to lean more towards the progressive/power metal genres. But not without a few more lineup changes. Bassist Daniel Terry decided to pursue another career and was eventually replaced by Adrian Smith, who sported such influences as Dream Theater, BTBAM and Symphony X, adding some of the progressive elements the band was looking for. Guitarist Jeremy Davis also left the band and is now focusing on his career in web design. He was quickly replaced by a man known only as Decha. Mainly because we can't pronounce his last name. Hailing from Thailand, Decha brought in the guitar speed WIB was searching for. With influences such as Annihilator, Angra, Dream Theater and Iron Maiden, the soon to be Guitar God was born to melt faces.
Today, Written In Blood is back and stronger than ever. Blending the influences of each member, ranging from drummer Jason Elliot's death metal roots to Jon's Iron Maiden vocals. The band has managed to put together a combination of thrash, death, power and progressive metal into a finely tuned metal machine.
With the band working together towards one goal, things are looking great for the future of Written In Blood. They recently traveled back to Winston-Salem to The Basement Recording Studio with Jamie King to complete a 3 song demo, due out in early 2008.
Keep an ear out for this band, for after you hear them, you'll never look at music the same again.
