Details:
Cliff Alaniz and Tere Mora are just like any other marriage. Two cultures, two styles brought together by their love and respect for music. In 1992, this marriage decided to create a different kind of partnership; combining their talent, experience and influences to create Dueto Alanniz.
With a demo in hand, like any other music group, Dueto Alanniz went to various record companies trying to get heard, and possibly a record deal. Each times they came back with the same answer: âWe like your music, but youâre too old.â Seeing that no record company was going to give them a chance, Cliff and Tere decided to do it themselves.
It took Dueto Alanniz almost 13 years to make their album a reality. The recording process was a long difficult journey â not just economically. Finding people who supported and believed in their project, who would listen to their ideas, and who took them seriously was the hardest part. The years of hard work, investment, and persistence can be heard in âLos Amoresâ.
âLos Amoresâ is a fusion of rhythm, style, and emotion. The album can be divided into 2 parts: the core and the extras. The core is 10 songs based in a âgruperoâ style, with its traditional emphasis on rhythm, bass and drums, influenced by different genres of Mexican music. The albums title track, âLos Amoresâ, along with âFrio de Ausenciaâ presents an air of polka and brass instruments, while âNo Digas Masâ brings the flavors of traditional mariachi music. The romanticism of boleros, trios, and lyrics of love and heartache come through in âAmor Que Malo Eresâ, âPor Segunda Vezâ, and âNo Quiero Nadaâ. At the same time, âNo Quiero Nadaâ along with âUna Lagrima y Un Recuerdoâ carry the traditional norteño use of accordion and saxophone, while âNunca Imagineâ, âY Que Pasoâ, and âTe Vi Llorandoâ conserve their traditional grupero style. The extras showcase the flexibility and variety of the duoâs musical style. These 6 songs, which are also part of the core songs in the grupero style, are a mix of acoustic, rock, pop, and country music.
