Elvira grew up in a musical family. When she was 4 years old, her Fatherâs career as a popular singer came to an abrupt end after an auto accident left him paralyzed for the remaining 34 years of his life. This had a profound affect on Elviraâs life, giving rise to an inner search for lifeâs meaning and purpose.

During the early 1970âs, Elvira sang professionally. By the mid-seventies she put her music career aside as her contemplative vocation began to unfold. By the early 1980âs she turned her songwriting talents to composing songs of inspiration and prayer. During this period of her life she lived in various spiritual communities...

As her own journey unfolded, Elvira felt drawn to the idea of founding a spiritual community. In the mid 1990âs this dream was realized when she co-founded The Forest of Peace Community, which has evolved into the Sky Valley Contemplative Community; an intentional contemplative community embracing various faith traditions. It is located on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
