Loose Caboose Band is really two brothers (Bill and Joe Carey) who have played their terrific toe-tapping, finger-snapping original songs for many years in schools, parties, and concerts in Chicagoland. âMighty Big Broomâ (2008) is their latest "caboose-tastic" release of pop/folk/rock/blues/ballad tunes for kids and parents of all ages. The rootinâ tootinâ Loose Caboose Band uses a wide variety of instruments, bright vocal harmonies, and various musical styles from around the world; they've got something for every family! So, jump on board the âLoose Cabooseâ musical train and join in the âcaboose-aliciousâ dance-party fun!
Two of the songs on Loose Caboose Bandâs first CD, âThe Caboose is Loose,â ("Toothbrush Train" and "Pumpkin Time") advanced to the next round of judging in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, Tennessee! Hurrah!
Here are some recent comments about Loose Caboose Band's brand new 2008 CD, "Mighty Big Broom":
"My favorite song...is "Ridin' on the Gravy Train" because of its jazzy/blues style...I will send the CD on to my daughter...in Los Angeles. She and her husband have two sons, age 3 and 6. I suspect they might enjoy the songs a great deal."
Larry D.
"I enjoyed the C.D, (particularly "Climbing on Daddy Mountain" and "My very First Haircut"). You have a simple/naive style that gives you a direct line to kids under five...Mr. Rogers comes to mind, but you have more humor and fun...It's very clear you know a lot about children."
Doug K.
Here are some exciting comments about Loose Caboose Band's first CD, "The Caboose Is Loose"--still a kid's classic!:
"The cd is amazing. My kids love it. My kids listen to a lot of folksy stuff like Arlo & Woody Guthrie, as well as Raffi. My oldest child is a "train-guy" and he just loves it! He was going through your words and everything...my daughter was dancing...they want to hear it on the way to school...It's quite an accomplishment...I'll treasure it."
Alice C.
"Thank you for the cd! We love it. We love "Toothbrush Train" and "Big Boy."
Ethan, Alex and Anna C.
"How lucky we are to have your first CD!...Our son, Ryan (20 months old) knows all the songs, and depending on what he's doing, he's got lots of favorites...Thanks for providing us with great entertainment and lots of wonderful memories!"
Chris and Tina H.
"The Carey brothers are real-estate managers by day but like to rock and roll and sing and dance, too. With the pianos, guitars, trumpets, bodhran and doumbek drums and didgeridoos of the Rootin' Tootin' Loose Caboose Band, they put together a CD of their original songs for kids. Their catchy melodies should have both kids and parents smiling."
