The music on this CD is inspired by the struggle of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. It is a fusion of African American jazz idioms with tonal and rhythmic idioms from Black Australian contemporary and traditional music. Several tracks are part of the original music score created for the documentary video Moving with the Dreaming produced by Harmony Image Productions.

Nadine Patterson is an award winning independent producer/director with the following credits: âI Used to Teach Englishâ, Winner Gold Apple Award 1994 National Educational Film/Video Festival, Oakland, CA; âAnna Russell Jones: Praisesong for a Pioneering Spiritâ, Best Documentary 1993 African American Women in the Arts Film/Video Competition, Chicago, IL; âMoving with the Dreamingâ, Prized Pieces award from the National Black Programming Consortium in 1997; âTodo El Mundo Dance!â selected for the 2001-2002 Council on Foundations Film and Video Festival. Other notable works include: âShizueâ, screened at the Museum of Modern Art in 1991; and âReleaseâ shown at the Constellation Change Dance Film Festival of London in 2006. Most recently she worked as a video news editor for CBS3 in Philadelphia. She continues to teach classes in video production at Scribe Video Center. She explores issues of culture and history in her film work. âTouching Bassâ, her first feature film as writer/director is currently in development at Harmony Image Productions.
