BlackRoots Unlimited is a group started by Uganda's Reggae music pioneer TShaka Mayanja AKA Winston, loosely based on the concept of the legendary UK based Soul/Funk/Jazz outfit Incognito led by Jean-Paul 'Bluey'' Maunik, among others.

'Dark Chocolate' is showcasing the immense talent of the sensual, sultry and smooth voiced K'Angie Mtume. All the music is written, arranged and played by TShaka Mayanja.
Kids rarely eat Dark Chocolate. They have a sweet tooth. Dark Chocolate is usually for adults after dinner when the lights are turned down low, and the kids put to bed.
Like love, Dark Chocolate is bittersweet!

This album is specifically made for adults of the ages 28 years+. For the last six or so years, Uganda's music industry has been producing and releasing music for mainly youth listeners, theatre goers and vernacular (Luganda and Swahili) speakers only. It's also predominantly 'dance music'.

This album was made with an eye on those who may not necessarily want to listen to vernacular songs and want to dance ALL THE TIME.
Adults tend to love to unwind after a hard days work, and listen to some smooth, meaningful and well-produced music.
'Dark Chocolate' is Big People's listening music. Lovers Rock Reggae at it's finest!

TShaka has infused all his inspirations into this album. The Blues, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Afro-Cuban music and Roots Reggae music. The sensual, sweet and soothing voice of K'Angie Mtume reminds one of the legendary Sade among many other 'smooth' vocalists. These are the dizzy heights we aspire to reach. We RESPECT our mentors.
