Lincoln T. Sax aka. "RebeLinX"
Producer, Writer, Vocalist, Instrumentalist [Saxophones].
Rebelinx is a worldly, multi faceted celebrated jazz and soul artist who was born in the 20th century Port of Spain Trinidad January 7. Rebelinx has been playing as far back to when he was in the sixth grade after his father bought him a saxophone for his birthday.
At the age of 15, he won the music award of excellence at his junior high were he continued to pursue right out of High School. He left school to go on the road with playing his Saxophone. He studied music in Paris France at the Sobon Paris 8, also at Concordia University Montreal in jazz studies. Rebelinx moved to New York to continue his jazz career studies until returning home in 2000 to full throttle his musical career.
He is a producer, writer, vocalist, performer and a multi-instrumentalist playing professionally 7 instruments including keys, drums, flute, as well as all the sax [Baritone, Tenor, alto, soprano,] being the renowned saxophonist who recorded several, including the key single, cuts on a variety of albums. Alongside his musicianship he is an exquisite vocalist, beat-boxer and an salsa dancer.
Having performed with jazz greats at spots like Blue Note, and Small's in NYC, and all over Paris, he also started recording deep house records with collaborative efforts in Montreal and London. Rebelinx solo stylings and live shows are phenomenal - performing vocals with his Sax, Beat-Box and Ragga alongside his band, Bitches Brew.
At the present time he's working on an album which features many monikers such as Fade to Black (The epic soulful R&B sound track), Alkapolka (Afro Latin pop), Takedown (Beat-Box meets Hip hops infused deepness) and Destiny Fate Collide bringing forth the a London funky excursion.
While in the midst of recording a new album he has showcased with a number of other new artists. Following up his Fade to Black film project of 2002, he collaborated with hip new voices Motoe1and Ndidi Cascade and Zenobia Salik with their highly acclaimed CD's.
This collaboration will birth Rebelinx first soul full-length release entitled 'Dope New Soul Cats', a 11-track album, that will feature all production, arrangement, and performance by Rebelinx and his funky soul brother 'Clev' Chris. âDope New Soul Catsâ offers an emotional and organic look at Ghetto's illegitimate soul child; a journey through life at the studio Hipposonic where Rebelinx and Clev have been giving birth to this complex, yet soothing and experimental sound. Blessed with a pleasant and dynamic voice, Rebelinx delivers songs with comparable passion and energy as Bobby Mcferrin, Donny Hathaway, and Revel of the âRootsâ. Through his lyrics, Rebelinx's objective is to not only be understood, but to impart his emotion and intensity to his audience. At 30 Rebelinx's is creative beyond imagination, and a genius - and we take that word seriously.
Chris Guy aka. Clev
With his portastudio, keyboard, drum machine, and guitar, singer/ arranger/ programmer Clev (born Chris Guy in Ft. Saint. John B.C. Sept.28 1978) is destine to create music that celebrates the funk culture of the of the new millennium. Clev's music draws from hip-hop, B-Box, electronic, acid jazz, pop, and R&B, recycling everything into a colorful, tricky, and willfully diverse brand of postmodern Soul.
With all of his rootless eclecticism, Clev is distinctly a product of the 21st century. Some of his influences were processed through the punk movement and snow-skate board culture. Growing up in a sleepy town of Nanaimo, B.C. away from the hustle and bustle, Clevâs unique musical inspiration is born from the spirit of the land and sea around him.
Clev started playing piano at the early age of five because of his mother, a piano teacher. He went on to claim his own by winning recitals and establishing a grade ten level Toronto conservatory certificate. He came to attention in early 90's, when he recorded a CD with a high school rock band.
As he prepared for life after high school Clev now had grasped sense of rhythmic knowledge and pursued a passion for programming. Saxophone, Bass, Guitar, Keys, Drums and a vast knowledge of musical theory were the instruments in his repertoire. Clev left home armed with years of musical promise and embarked on a recording arts master program in Burnaby B.C. earning him a diploma as an audio engineer.
Clev teamed up with Roger Swan, an engineer at Hipposonic, and now has engineering and producing credits with popular groups such as, Swollen Members, The Rascals, Moka onlyâ¦etc. Clevâs musical flavor is destining to be stated, documented in his passion and concentration of composition. At 24 Clevâs ingenious qualities, strength, and love is fortified by family and friends ready and willing to make his voice a force that stands the test of time.
