I like my music like I like my women: "hard, loud, fast & pretty".
9 MP3 Songs
METAL/PUNK: Garage Punk, ROCK: Americana
Details:
Prepare to suspend belief.
This is a band bio, after all.
On 3/11(Never Forget®)/2008, Transnational Debate Records expelled the debut full-length, "FORCALI" by the Deepsea Goes.
Coming out exactly six months (9/11, Never Forget®) after their last EP & clocking in at 31 minutes & 31 seconds; it matches the length of the first two EPs combined (Non-essential information).
Hell, it wouldâve come out much sooner if the band hadnât broken 3 & 1/2 computers in the process of trying to contain the monster that "FORCALI" became.
I thought computers were supposed to make these things easier.
So anyways, the album was written & recorded in between a buncha blistering, non-stop live shows.
Apparently, itâs harder to finish tracking an album when you break a guitar, blow out an amp & break your cymbals. Oops.
Did I mention the nasty computer virus that tried to erase the enitre album in the middle of mixing?
That was a fun two weeks.
The point is that the album attempts to capture the dirty essence of the band.
Loud, confusing, backwards, sarcastic, & teetering on the edge of collapse.
Lyrically, "FORCALI" draws from such inspiring, uplifting topics as: rape, abortion, murder, technology, sodomy, hermaphrodites, wife-swapping, castration & other failings of mankind.
By now, youâre prolly curious what The Deepsea Goes sounds like. if youâve made the mistake of trusting this poor excuse of a press release so far, I may as well give you some horribly misguided, exaggerated points of reference.
Howâs this copy sound:
"The Deepsea Goes is the synthesis of the frenetic, cacophonous drumming of the Jam, with the unyielding aggressiveness & awkwardly tuned guitars of Daydream Nation-era Sonic Youth, the melodic bouncy bass playing of Unwound & the condescending, belligerent vocal delivery of a young Mark E. Smith."
Ridiculous enough? Yea, I got my thesaurus out for that one guys.
In reality the band is just a rock & roll band.
Guitars & drums & stuff.
What more do you want?
People who are interested in Pixies Unwound The Modern Lovers should consider this download.
