Pastor Eddie D. Smith, Sr. was born to the parentage of the late Rev. Jack Smith, Jr. and Mrs. Mattie Mae Smith in Macon, Georgia. A graduate of the Bibb County public school system; Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, GA (Bachelor of Science & Master of Science degrees), Pastor Smith went on to work for fourteen years in the Bibb County public school system as a Teacher and a Media Specialist. On August 6, 1972 Pastor Smith accepted the pastorate of Macedonia Baptist Church in Macon, GA where he has served faithfully for 36 years as Senior Pastor.

Pastor Eddie D. Smith, Sr. is the father to five adult children: Suwandia; Edwanna; E. Dewey Smith Jr.; Corey and the late Alvy Smith; grandfather of eleven. He is married to Mrs. Martha Kate Smith of Macon, GA.

LIVE in Concert represents Pastor Smith's 3rd nationally released recording and his 2nd with the Macedonia Church Choir. Other recordings by Pastor Smith include the extremely popular Sermon entitled "The Gospel According To The Birds", and Pastor Smith's 1st album with the Macedonia Church Choir entitled "I Know I've Been Changed". LIVE In Concert was recorded LIVE at The Macedonia Church in Macon, Georgia. This night to remember presented Pastor Smith showcasing his favorite gospel songs to an excited audience of supporters and friends. Throughout the recording, Smith shares his smooth vocal talents on traditional gospel standards like "Certainly Lord", "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah", and "My Lord's Getting Us Ready". As a man blessed with anointing and raw vocal talent, Pastor Smith also presents two A cappella raised hymns "Lord, I Come To Thee" and "A Charge To Keep" taking the listener back to the days before electrical instrumentation.

Though this is clearly a choir album, Pastor Smith is a quartet man at heart and that influence is felt throughout the 13 song set. The extended version of "Pass Me Not" that closes this project is a beautiful tribute to the vocal styling of the Legendary Rev. Claude Jeter and The Swan Silvertones.

Though influenced by vocalists like Sam Cooke, Rev. Claude Jeter, and Archie Brownlee, Pastor Smith has a style all his own. Through both sermons and songs he is known for never taking his time. You will be amazed at how he weaves his way through up beat numbers with ease and shows his vocal proficiency on slower ballads as well. While most of the songs are traditional numbers, look out for the two original compositions "We're Having A Party" and "Bless Today". Both of these songs have received major airplay throughout the south east US. These two numbers show that Pastor Smith can mix it up with the best sounds of today.
