This album is none other than a grassroots ode to my life. A patchwork quilt of all my up-close and personal experiences in the years stitched together lovingly with sleepless nights and guitar callused fingers.

These songs are poems of death, sex, love, God, giving birth, growing up and trying to find my place in this wide and sometimes terrifying world.

While my lyrics rarely reveal their source directly ,the fact remains that these songs are actually markers of some of the biggest , most major events on my journey. for example " Culture Shock " written at age 16 documents my first great awakening - both socially , politically and internally. And "Capable " was written the very moment I realized I was pregnant, when only 2 months earlier I was just a teenager...subsequent songs revealing all the struggles,blessings and heartache that ensued.

Most of my recordings for this album were done at random intervals in many different studios along the way, ranging from Alaskan basement set-up's to my own living room during baby's naps and rare moments when the neighbors weren't ouside my windows blasting Mariachi music from their car stereos. There were actually many,many more tracks that could have been included in this album but I have distilled my musical diary into these select tracks - for now.

These are my raw experiences, juicy and intoxicating . this is my journal read out loud and twisted into string and song...this is my own little flask of unofficial, under-the-table Moonshine.
