Joe Hedges is a singer/songwriter originally from Trenton, Ohio who first enjoyed success as frontman for former major-labelers July For Kings, then as a solo artist for his critically acclaimed 2007 release Curvature.

These songs were written in Lexington, Kentucky in Hedges former apartment during the writing sessions for Curvature. They are perhaps his most intimate and revealing recordings to date. Recorded using primarily a built-in microphone on an old laptop, a childhood keyboard, and an acoustic guitar, all the attention is drawn to Hedges soulful voice and his direct, melancholic lyrics. In the spirit of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska, this collection of songs works precisely because they are raw, off-the-cuff, and revealing. In stark contrast to the slick production of his solo record Curvature and his work with July For Kings, this is Hedges at his most fragile.
