Led by Len Rosen, the Tribe of Good Fortune is the latest southern musical force to be reckoned with. Born out of what started out as Len's first solo studio album, all the pieces fell into place and it all came together to form this new band. Here's the official backstory:

Len Rosen got bit hard by the music bug during his high school years, and continued to develop while at university at both Tulane, and later at Buffalo State where he got his degree in Special Education, but really was more interested in learning to play his instruments and work on his musical craft. After his college band "The Fedoras" played its first gig, he knew that music had to be a large part of his life.

Starting his teaching career in Hawaii, he picked up musical influences from all over the world, and ended up performing a few solo shows at a local college bar which led to hosting the open-mic there. After a few years he moved to Phoenix, AZ where he continued teaching, but became deeply embroiled in the local open-mic scene... which led to playing the coffeehouse scene as a solo performer... which led to forming a duo with a percussion player... which led to playing in the bars... which led to changing the lineup to a full band.. which led to touring....
Len's brother, David, had moved out to become his drummer, and with varying bass players "Radio Theory" started performing all over the Southwest. The guys realized that they couldn't "Do it right" in Arizona, they all quit their jobs and moved the band to Atlanta, where they toured and made a living through the band for the next five years. Eventually the band had to break up, and Len went back to a solo acoustic mode and performed in local venues. In the spring of 2007 he went into the studio with the intention of making a new solo acoustic record. He decided to flesh out the sound into that of a full band, and started having some of his very talented friends and associates record tracks for him, and very quickly realized that they had the makings of something special. Over the course of the rest of the year, they slowly worked on and finished the album, and it turned out so good that even though most of the players had their own bands and projects, everyone agreed that it was worth pursuing the golden ring with this project as a full fledged band.

Although self produced and recorded at their friends studio, the album was mastered by the famous Rodney Mills, who started his career working with the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd (He's the engineer on Sweet Home Alabama!) and the Atlanta Rhythm Section. Rodney has worked with just about every famous name you can think of in the intervening years, and we were honored to have him helping us out. (sitting in his studio is like being in the rock and roll hall of fame... Gold and platinum albums line the walls and you wouldnt beleive the names associated with them....)

The current lineup features members of such known Southeastern bands as: Bonobos Convergence, Blueground Undergrass, Wayside Riders, and too many other projects to count. Everyone in the band is a professional musician who has paid their dues out there on the road, and have put forth the commitment to make The Tribe of Good Fortune the greatest new band to hit the southern scene in a good long while!
