Huntington Beach singer/songwriter Marc B is the freshest artist to emerge out of the eclectic underground music scene of Orange County in years. If you're a surfer, and you havenât yet heard his smoothly flowing hip-hop inspired tunes belting out in your beachside venue, chances are you will soon. Marc B naturally targets the surf industry with his music, being a lifetime surfer himself. His music is a mix of roots, rock, and jazz guitar combined with mellow, catchy lyrics that everyone can relate to. It's safe to say the world will be hearing alot about Marc B music in the years to come.
Fans have been praising him in shows around the Southland, and are demanding recordings. So, to answer the calling he's been logging hours in a professional studio to record his new self titled E.P., Marc B, due out summer, 2007. "He provides mellow, feel-good tunes that any So Cal college student can relate to and appreciate,â writes Whitney Walker, in April 2007âs issue of DIG Magazine. And this time, heâs backed by a full loaded five piece band, including DJ F Street.

Music is in Marc's blood. Explains Marc, âMusic was passed to me by my grandfather and father. My grandpa played stand up Bass in a Dixieland Jazz band and Ukulele in a Hawaiian Band through the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties. My father has been playing incredible piano and classical guitar his whole life. Music was always in my house. It was either live jams that we would create for hours on end, or Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, or Tom Petty filling the air. I cannot remember a family gathering without a jam towards the end. There were always guitars and things lying around...â Naturally, Marc B has been writing original songs since he was twelve years old. It wasnât until college that he took his personal music career into his own hands. âI realized in college that there were several thousand people with all the same feelings that I had. Everyone my age gets nervous about their future. I try to convey my feelings through my music, whether they be about surfing, women, or even about my views of the Orange County area and its people.â What are his views on Orange County?
