Let us make art that inspires conversation. Let us abandon our quest for the American dream and petty modern fortunes in search of something better. Sophiaâs first full-length release, my morning; migration is a narrative about the human struggle for finding hope in a world surrounded with hopelessness. From its conception my morning; migration was a very diligent and arduous project for this six-piece band from Nashville. Sophiaâs goal in writing the album was that the limits of the hardcore genre be pushed to a more personal sound and that the story be told in its most appropriate setting. With driving vintage guitar tone, aggressive vocals, and overtly melodic themes the music alone sits well within the ears of its listeners. However, the record ultimately forces the listener to a deeper inner dialogue with its very direct lyrical content. This recordâs concept is a masterful compilation of the human experience that demands its listeners to dive below the surface. It takes its listeners to a place we will all find ourselves from time to time: where we wake up to find that we are unsatisfied with the injustice and disconnection of our world and feel powerless to change it. This record is a story of hope and hopelessness. This record is a story of brokenness and the truth about redemption. Its brutal honesty will at times be resisted but ultimately we find that this record speaks the truth; or at least as best as Sophia can tell the truth. âWe are all sufferingâ but we must âbe the hopeâ we want to see in this world. This is their thesis, my morning; migration is their story.
