Smooth Latin jazz and tropical grooves with outstanding improvised solos by some of the greatest players in the USA. Some bossa novas, cha-chas, sambas, but all with a definite leaning towards jazz. 8 MP3 Songs LATIN: Latin Jazz, JAZZ: Smooth Jazz Details: Drunken laughter rings out from the bar and itâs only afternoon. Bright Latin grooves are heard. The sun blazes down on the beach where a small bird prints his running feet. Shall we go in for a drink? I composed these tunes while living in Los Angeles after I imagined hearing some Latin music coming from a waterfront bar, along with itâs accompanying temptations. Iâm grateful I was able to recruit these nine top caliber musicians. Their ability to transcend technique and play straight from the heart is what I find most remarkable. They were all so very generous in providing me with the benefits of their skills â especially Michael Rosen for recording, producing, and playing, too. I hope you will enjoy their multiple talents. Many thanks to the lot of them: Trumpet & flugelhorn: Carl Saunders Trombone: Les Benedict Saxes & flute: Doug Webb Vocal: Michie Sahara Guitar: Jinshi Ozaki Piano: Karen Hernandez Keyboards: Teddy Yamada Bass: Jeffrey Takiguchi Percussion: Carlos Hatem Drums & chromatic harmonica: Michael Rosen All compositions and arrangements by Teddy Yamada Lyrics for âFarewellâ by Michie Sahara Produced and recorded by Teddy Yamada & Michael Rosen Mixed and mastered by Michael Rosen Track #8, Farewell, is sung by a jazz singer I highly respect, Michie Sahara, who also wrote the lyrics. Using her original vocal performance from the demo she and I made together in 2000, I reorchestrated and recorded this new arrangement. This song is our one and only collaboration, since sadly, she passed away in 2001. I was born in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan, where I studied piano as a child. I later attended Nihon University, College of Art, where I studied classical music, and continued my piano studies with Taeko Hirao. Eventually, I met jazz pianist, Yoshitaka Akimitsu, who started me on the path to jazz. I played in Japan in hotels, night clubs and restaurants. In 1989 I moved to Los Angeles to compose, per-form and arrange music as my career. Many thanks go to my parents for the piano lessons as a child and for encouraging me forward. Today, Iâm able to appreciate how much richer my life is, thanks to the influence of the many talented musicians Iâve met along my path of âlife lessons.â Now about that drink⦠â Teddy Yamada People who are interested in Dave Valentin Kenny G Pérez Prado should consider this download. in partnership with CDbaby User tags: Votes: Reviews: Review it!
