The lyrics of this album are based on a theory that the legendary Jotunheim of Norse Mythology was really Asia and the people refered to as "jotun" were really Asians. According to viking legends the 1st Millenium A.D. was much warmer than the 2nd Millenium A.D. and it was possible to sail through the Arctic Ocean which was unimpeded by Ice. Jotunheim, according to legend was located in the Far East. Hence the theory that Joutunheim was really East Asia. So to create an Asian feel for those songs that take place in Jotunheim, Thursar has used traditional Asian instruments like Chinese lutes(Pipa) Chinese zithers(zheng) Indian sitars and veenas, as well as percussion accompanyment of tabla drums and dholoks.
