Sounding polished and once again very quirky Tones has a rocking new release with some great story in the words. Tones one of Canada's best innovative guitarists from the new music scene in Toronto in the 80âs has just given us more moving music.
What a gem this CD is!

Eco Freeko a new term coined by Tones is the title of the CD and there is also a title track called Eco Freeko. This Cd of 14 unique tracks hails about life as we know it today. Each song is a message. The messages have respect written all over them. Tones has crafted a cd about respect,love,and enviro matters. There are 60's to present rhythms and a lot of beat in this poppy CD.

The Ice is melting and climate is hurting. This Cdâs messages compared to a pop magazine is more like a serious book filled with hope and necessary awareness.

The Songs:
This Cd is cleverly crafted in the pop vein but has hard edge in its instrumentation (mainly the guitar work) and opens with rock n roll tr#1-Padauk (padook) about African trees. ROCK AND ROLL 60's style.

Its message is that people who can afford the wood consume expensive woods but can the rest of us afford the loss of air making botany? And who cares? A reason to think about why cut the trees and for who while the planet is down to 40 of its original forests left. What is cleaning air and making oxygen since the loss of these trees.

The R&R styling is Beatle ish and Tones is a vocal harmonizer. The guitar solo work is signature stylized and the blues harp is gutsy. Jazz great Sandy Chochinov plays rock n roll bass on this studio track and fretless stereo bass on others.

Dub a do Bird an acoustic based track is about people driving while on the phone. Giving each other the bird when frustrations prevail.
Dubbing being a phrase used before Rap to describe a lot of blabbing.

Forest Trilogy is 3 songs arranged in a story about the forests and the thoughtless act of clear cutting.

Be mâa little ray ... just chill and come together. Self-indulgence draws us apart in this fast moving world. Tones likes phrases that have double meanings. They are catchy. Beam a little ray âor- Be my little ray your guess?

Eco Freeko the track itself has an SOS pulse in the guitar work as does Earth to Earth. You need to listen for them because they are rhythmic and not obvious. Totally unrelated by birth these two tracks have this SOS tag.

Little Nuf Said is about the lack of good information given to North Americans for the use of hemp and cannabis plants. It is not a rally for pot smoking but an info track about the great uses for the 8 foot high oxygen making plant itself. In a day and age where there is so much bad (air and rising CO2) this plant has a lot to give in relief. Hey I donât inhale??? But I like the idea of every American reading about the seeds and health value of the whole plant.Not to mention a better renewable bio fuel source and way better than corn stalks!Now that 60 of the earths natural forests are altered or destroyed what cleans and makes our air?Our lungs breath in and out .Are they the filters of tomorrow?

The Universe Ball is a song about acceptance and the lack of. It would be a turn of human behavior if everyone were accepted at the ball, including off world aliens a phenomenon not yet experienced or really thought of in a world so full of war. The ball being a place for all to attend.

Change the world (the poor Peoples song) speaks for itself. Oil money is made off of the planets resources that we all should be sharing to ease our burden.
Corporation's bottom line, treds on the backs of the working poor.

Tsunami was written a day after the Sri Lanka disaster.
This song has a depth of soul and acoustic guitar rolls it out nice.A huge shock to the world when a disaster of this magnitude happens, but with all of the science why was there no wave raid warning siren on every coast?
Is there today 2008? Where are peoples priorities.
Its human behavior.

Deer O Deer guitar riff rock drives hard in this song about urban sprawl. Excellent guitar rock track.

Them (deep space message) a fantasy narrative is what theyâd probably say if they came down to see this mess weâve made of our world.

Things look different is a Toronto escape song.
It has a new surroundings ring to it, and appreciation for such.The country lends new life to a city escapee.
