Biography
After graduating from the Atlanta Institute of Music together, Jake Merritt (singer/guitarist) and Blue Phillips (guitarist) began playing with drummer Daniel Burch. What started out as late night "jam sessions" where much of the music being made was improvised, soon sparked an interest in the three to start a project. The project would soon create their signature sound and would need something to call themselves, ultimately deciding on Wake of the Titan. Inspired by Pink Floyd, Muse, Radiohead, Incubus and many others, Wake of the Titan headed straight into the studio to cut their first record, a six song E.P. with over 32 minutes of music. The record titled "Goodnight Cold Earth" is full of inspirational, soaring vocals, winding melodies, mature guitar solos, complex rhythmic figures, and odd time signatures. Now that the record is complete they are turning their attention towards touring with their new bass player Matt Moss. People are getting excited, the band is excited, and this is only the start of the road for this talented group of musicians.
